You are invited to nominate a candidate for the 2010 Marta V. Wyatt Award to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the betterment of the Hispanic community in Northern Virginia.  The Marta V. Wyatt Award will be presented at the Hispanic Committee of Virginia’s 43rd Anniversary Celebration of Culture and Achievement on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Conference Center in Arlington, Virginia.
Criteria
    The award is named in honor of Marta V. Wyatt who served as Executive Director of the Hispanic Committee of Virginia from1989-1999.  She devoted her life to social and economic justice for Hispanic/Latino immigrant families living in Northern Virginia and her legacy continues to this day.  All individuals, regardless of ethnic or racial background, are eligible to be nominated so long as their contribution is consistent with the values and philosophy outlined below:

Current Hispanic Committee of Virginia staff and board members are not eligible to be nominated. Staff and board members serving on the award selection committee may not submit nominations.
