Immigration Legal Assistance and Citizenship Preparation
The Hispanic Committee of Virginia offers Immigration legal assistance to assist Hispanic/Latino immigrants seeking to reduce barriers to the U.S. naturalization process.
Services include legal consultation and assistance with applications for:
- Naturalization;
- Citizenship Certificate;
- Permanent Residency;
- Employment Authorization Documents;
- Family Petitions;
- Refugee Travel Documents;
- Adjustment of Status;
- Removal of Condition on Permanent Resident Status
- Change of Status;
- Fiancé Visas;
- H-1B Visas;
- Visa Lottery;
- NACARA – El Salvador and Guatemala; and
- Temporary Protective Status (TPS).
The Hispanic Committee of Virginia offers Citizenship/Civic Education classes in Falls Church. Classes provide a comprehensive, up-to-date curriculum that includes detailed steps to becoming a naturalized citizen, topics necessary to pass the U.S. Citizenship Exam, current events, rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship, and integrate students’ own experiences into discussions and themes.
Citizenship/Civic Education classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on a rolling admissions basis throughout the year. Students attend the classes for as long as they need to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship Test. There is a enrollment fee
Additional services may be provided on as needed basis. Individual may also be referred to other public or private providers.
